Who we are
ROBERT STEPHEN - Owner: Robert has over seventeen years of professional experience in both the facilities industry and as a design professional. This experience ranges from multi million dollar computer and design projects to medium and small implementations. Focusing on the Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) software, Robert has assisted large, medium and small computer companies with complex computations such as charge back analysis, vacancy reporting, asset tracking, lease management, telecommunication inventory, and work order management. Each of these components is brought to the local intranet for management to view and manage.
Web based solutions are focus for Robert. He has provided a simple employee locator for SGI and Exodus Communications. Updating both the moves and the physical environment through a display of AutoCAD drawings has provided an effective tool for reporting change. This Locator is updated nightly through automated routines and the populous at large has come to rely on its accuracy. Nothing on this locator is older than 24 hours.
Database synchronization is key to a successful CAFM database and other departments such as HR, Finance, or Security owns many parts. At PG&E Robert assists the nightly importing and exporting of facility information to their financial reporting tool. This is completed through ODBC calls and Visual Basic routines.
SGI has multiply database synchronizations and Robert has been key in their smooth transferring and implementation. PeopleSoft and CAFM software are synced twice a day while Logistics receives a nightly load to their Arrival system. The Site Voice Services department provides phone numbers and email addresses and the CAFM software returns their locations. Furniture inventory from the floor and warehouse is captured weekly and provides valuable reporting for tenant improvements and move management.
Prior to establishing his own office in Menlo Park in 2000, Robert worked with two other private CAFM firms in San Francisco and San Leandro for three years. He was a Landscape Architect for 13 years and holds a B.L.A. degree from Utah State University. He is a member of IFMA and of the local Silicon Valley Archibus Users Group (SVAUG). He also sits on the board of the Silicon Valley AutoCAD Powers User Group (SVAPU). Robert also teaches intermediate AutoCAD at DeAnza College.
